West Indies Win Over England - D/L

Hosts West Indies moved into the Super Eight stage of the Twenty20 World Cup after a rain delay helped them clinch victory over England in Group D.

England will feel hard done by after making an impressive 191 for five in their 20 overs but then only getting six overs to bowl at West Indies, who won on the Duckworth-Lewis calculation system after making 60 for two.

With bad weather closing in, skipper Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul hit 30 from 2.2 overs before a rain stoppage.
When play resumed West Indies needed to score only a further 30 off 22 balls with all their wickets in hand. Although they lost Gayle and Kieron Pollard in the chase, the hosts reached their reduced target with a ball to spare.

England must now beat Ireland on Tuesday to ensure progress in the competition and given their batting performance that should be comfortably manageable.

A hard-hitting 95-run partnership between Eoin Morgan (55) and Luke Wright (45 not out) drove England to their impressive total, after their South African born opening batsmen Michael Lumb and Craig Kieswetter brought up 50 off 31 balls.
